Private Lessons anywhere in Australia or NZ? Can't believe it?
Well now with the simple FREE software called SKYPE it's now possible. Troy exclusively uses Skype for lessons.
Requirements for Skype to work:
- Broadband internet connection
- Video camera for your computer (built-in on laptops or external)
- DOWNLOAD the free software SKYPE at www.skype.com
- Pay online 24 hours before lesson using credit card or paypal account
It's as easy as that!

NOT SURE ABOUT TECHNOLOGY:
IT REALLY IS EASY. If your like many and feel that twinge of pain when thinking about technology don't let that stop you. I will guide you through the entire setup process (which doesn't take much time) over the phone at an agreed upon time the weekend before the our first lesson. Believe me, if I can get my children's grandmother in the US using skype I can get anyone up and running.
Not sure if face to face skype lessons would work for you? Well first, you will get a feel for it on the weekend setup session. Secondly, you are not locked into any more lessons. You can stop at any time. In the past most of my students from the Gold Coast drive 45 minutes for face to face lessons, but once they trial the skype never drive down again preferring the convenience of working at home. |
GENERAL OUTLINE OF PRIVATE LESSONS:
It takes approximately 10 lessons to learn the entire American Accent. This varies for each individual depending upon many factors (prior experience, continuity of lessons etc...)
A general outline of lessons will consist of the following:
(Each individual is different with different focuses, experience and immediate needs. As such the following is just a guide. The lessons will be devised and agreed upon for each individual student.)
- Introduction to the Accent and what we will be learning - 1 Lesson
- Consonant Awakening - 1 Lesson
- Resonance - 1/2 Lesson
- Learning what the American Emphasis is and how it affects the accent - 1/2 Lesson
- Finding the American Emphasis - 2 1/2 Lessons
- How to work Emphasis - 1 Lesson
- Stress of Syllables - 1/2 Lesson
- The Dreaded R's - 1 Lesson
- Working a script from the moment you get it to the performance in an audition - 2 Lesson
After you finish your lessons. You will be confident that you know exactly what you need to do and how to do it to maintain the American Accent.
